Such a cute maternity photo shoot idea! Love this maternity photo idea with the couple showing their love and that bump!
And if we’re being honest, it’s what we really wanted our first child’s gender to be! I told myself I didn’t care, but something about mother’s intuition must have kicked in because we are just so excited that it’s a boy! We are so thrilled, and the little man outfit purchasing has already begun!
Want to do this gender reveal yourself? We had our sign made by our friend聽Elise, and I’m sure she’d love to hook you up with one too if you need a designer of your own! We had the signs printed for cheap at Costco and had them ready to go to take pictures shortly after finding out to capture the joy and excitement. We found out the gender together, we wanted it to be a private moment between us and my sister-in-law who happens to ultrasounds at an O.B. office probably joined our discovery moment too, but we wanted it celebrated a little more intimately before we announced to the world. I’m glad we had a few hours to let it soak in and to talk about names and the nursery before we let the rest of the world start to ask us questions. We then went and got the balloons and confetti and took the gender announcement with us out to our photo location to photograph our excitement and a fun and creative way to do a gender reveal with everyone else.
So all you need: Signs, balloons, confetti, and a photographer or camera and tripod ready to go!

  1. Ah, I was wrong!!! But so exciting!!! I get more excited to become a boy mom every single day, so happy that you'll be one with me 馃檪

  2. We wanted a boy too! Our first ultrasound tech's guess was a girl. As soon as I got my head wrapped around that, we found out it was a boy! Congrats! So happy for you.

  3. I just read your post from last Sunday and it was all too familiar. Though my issues and journey have been different from yours, the feelings and struggles have been very much the same and I just have to say that I am SO SO happy for you! I saw so much of my own heartache in reading about yours. I have a picture of all the medications and injections I was taking and sometimes I go back and look at it when I'm having a hard pregnant-person day to help remind me all that it took to get here. (I swore I would never ever complain about being pregnant, but the fact is that pregnancy is kind of hard sometimes, so when my husband asks how my day is going and it's a bad one, I always just say I'm having a hard pregnant-person day to keep me from complaining). Anyway. This is longer than I meant it to be. But just wanted to tell you congratulations and I wish you all the best with your pregnancy and with that sweet little boy that will be here before you know it! 馃檪

  4. Boys are great! I had two boys and they were both awesome babies (except for the peeing everywhere part – make sure you cover that thing at all times, ALL TIMES). Congratulations!
