How to Make the Perfect Sandwich- Jalapeno Popper Burger Recipe

This post is sponsored by Pepperidge Farm, but all opinions are my own.

Arizona’s natural resources are taught in history classes as the 5 C’s- Climate, Citrus, Cotton, Copper, and Cattle. I want to share a taste of Phoenix today and talk about how to make the perfect sandwich filled with Southwest flavors. Naturally, this would need to involve one of the C’s, and cattle is something we firmly believe belong in a sandwich!

The key to anything Southwest is the right amount of spice, which means a jalapeño is on my shopping list weekly, The Jalapeno Popper Burger is a great way to enjoy the flavors without going overly spicy. Here’s what you need:

1 lb Ground Beef
1 tsp cumin
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
4 oz cream cheese
1 cup cheddar cheese
1 sliced jalapeño (but if you’re really not into much heat go ahead and only do half)
Hamburger Buns (Pepperidge Farm Bakery Classics work perfect!)
Sliced tomato
Lettuce Leaves

It’s actually super easy to put this together! We made a movie to show you how it can be done, and it should take less than 5 minutes to assemble!

When you’re done grill to desired doneness. Also be sure to add pepper jack cheese, because that adds even more flavor and even more Southwest. One I went to a sandwich chain outside of Arizona where they explained they don’t carry this stuff at all locations, just the Southwest and I felt sad for the rest of the country. Luckily grocery stores have you back, and lucky for me this variety is stocked up as much as cheddar in most of mine!

Grab you lettuce, tomato, and Pepperidge Farm buns. You may want ketchup and mustard too.

And just for dramatic effect, go ahead and cut it in half so you can see all that flavor and goodness!
