I feel like I have to start this post out with a big disclaimer! I am a huge advocate for loving yourself at any size. I’ve watched enough close friends struggle with eating disorders and weight obsession that I’ve always been one to really champion health over the number on the scale. How you feel and good habits are worth so much more than a size and I honestly believe that!

So with that said, I’ve been pretty happy and felt good about myself with good health habits most of my life. After having a baby I was lucky to drop the actual baby weight pretty quickly, but I had about 15 lbs of weight from infertility treatments. All the fake hormones and endocrine issue manipulation were a lot more than my body could take, and it held onto a lot of weight. I was still within healthy BMI and had been this weight and size before so I decided to just be okay with it, keep working out, and be grateful a little miracle baby finally came into our lives. But deep down, of course, I hoped one day my body would snap out of it or the right medication would find me again and maybe my efforts to really work out and eat well would pay off again.

Enter the one change I made that made all the difference. I have a friend from my grad school days that I met at church that I adore! She was actually friends with Jacob before I was, and we both just think the world of her and her entire family! She has a really amazing story of overcoming Leukemia with diet, and it’s what’s motivated her to keep things natural, healthy, and to try to help others. At a mutual friend’s baby shower we started talking about what we were up to career-wise these days and I told her I’d been blogging and consulting, and she told me she’d actually started something herself developing natural supplements to help with some common struggles people have; namely weight management, anxiety, and energy/focus. I had started doing HIIT (High-intensity interval training) three days a week and was walking/running a couple of miles two-three other days a week. I’d started this combo while weaning began and I could workout harder, and although I felt better and in better shape, I didn’t see any weight loss in that first month. I mention this because health is a holistic thing, you have to make working out and diet both a priority. But for everyone who has and still isn’t seeing results, this is the one thing I did that made things start to happen! After about a month and four weeks into the BBG program, I added the Brilliant Ways Raspberry Ketones supplement to my diet.

It’s a natural fat burner that works by helping release norepinephrine and increases the fat digestive enzyme lipase. I even started cutting some of my portion sizes off dinner because I just didn’t feel as hungry. I did this for my first month, and then I personally felt like it had kicked the habit. I still use it about once a week, but for me, it reset my eating pretty quickly. If you’re a big food craver/snacker it’s a miracle worker! If you just need something to help you set portion control better, it’s a great started and awesome to have on hand! I really like it, but I think for me the Raspberry Ketones were the real miracle worker!

Let’s talk results! 

The weight I couldn’t shed on my own started to fall off me in perfectly healthy time. I’ve dropped about a pound to two pounds a week. I also found when I behaved I lost it, and when I cheated and didn’t eat awesomely I didn’t gain weight. I should mention my cheats are more like eating a double portion at dinner and eating a donut. Nothing too crazy, but in the past, I could count on gaining a little weight with a bad cheat weekend. This kept things in check for me within reason. When I didn’t cheat I’d lose two pounds. When I’d be a normal person healthy most the time with a cheat weekend I’d lose one.

I hoped I may lose a few pounds when I started, but at this point, I’m down 13 of the 15 pounds I hoped to lose! I can feel a faster metabolism and like my healthy efforts are really paying off!

It’s kind of embarrassing to post a sports bra gym selfie, and I still have some diastasis recti to heal and a few more lbs to go, and I wish I was in the exact same pose, but here are a few progress shots that really show the changes in my waist, arms, stomach, and face.

This is a bit of a side note and maybe TMI, but I’ve always had hormone imbalances, hence all the infertility issues. For the first time in my life, I’m seeming to be more regular, more balanced, and I can’t help but attribute this to help from the Raspberry Ketones.   1. I think I asked you this early on in your journey, but you said that you didn’t notice a difference in milk supply with this, right? I’m already a low producer, so I worry about things.

    • Didn’t effect me at all! I was weaning though and down to one feeding a day, but I stayed the same until I actually weaned.

    • Definitely it doesn’t! In fact, I’m starting the infertility journey again, and I’m miraculously more balanced and need less help this time, and I really believe it’s because of the hormone balancing natural supplements!   4. Thank you for sharing your secret. Could these possibly work on someone that doesn’t have a very active lifestyle? Do you only take them on days when you workout? Or even when you don’t?

    • I take them every day! I think working out helps with fat burning, so I see more benefits, but they help on the days I don’t too! The Skinny Greens are awesome even on my less active weeks, I can tell I crave less sugar, eat smaller portions, and feel better. All are great, I just saw more of a weight loss on the weeks I combined Raspberry Keytones with exercise!

    • First of all, best name ever, and wayyyyyy too long since we’ve talked! You totally should try these, they are excellent and my friend knows her stuff! I can’t believe the difference I’ve seen in my own body!
      And holy crap you have five children, I still need to let that set in while I try to barely tackle parenting one!

    • So for liability almost every product on the market claims you need to talk to a dr. if breastfeeding and this one included. So while the company tells you to wait, I went ahead and tried it while I was starting to wean, and down to two feedings a day. It worked great for me, but I’d totally use your discretion and talk to a doctor to be 100% certain!

  7. I suffer from hypothyroidism and take daily medication. I have struggled to lose baby weight after each of my children. After having my first child, I lost all but 10 pounds. I encountered the same situation after the birth of my second child and again lost all but 10 pounds – meaning I was 20 pounds above my “before kids” weight. I had my third child and again lost all but the remaining 10 pounds. I am now 30 pounds heavier than I weighed before having children. My youngest is now three years old. Even while taking part in HIIT workouts 3 times per week, running once per week, roller blading one day per week, and walking regularly (in addition to the activity that being a mom of 3 provides) I still have not been able lose what my body must feel is an obligatory 10 pounds (x3) of pregnancy weight. With all that said…..I want to verify that taking the Raspberry Ketones will not negatively interact with my daily thyroid medication.

    • Wow I am so sorry for the struggle! I have family members with hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism and it is always a chore to manage so kudos to you navigating all of it after three children!
      I wish I could 100% verify, but unfortunately as someone who isn’t in the medical profession and someone just sharing their story I’d have to tell you to talk to a doctor about it. Even though it’s all natural supplements and something that hasn’t impacted my insulin resistance and endocrine issues (it’s actually helped!) I think playing it safe and double checking with a doctor is a good idea!

    • I really like it! I should preface with I’m an avid green smoothie drinker, so if you’re like nope no greens ever you may not feel the same. I think it tastes a lot like the Mighty Greens Naked Juice!
      And I do 8 oz of water with a scoop. I usually do another 8 of plain water just to wash it down, but that may just be me!

    • Hey Katie! I guess it depends on where you think you’re at. I love both, but my success I think was mostly due to working out and burning fat and having Raspberry Ketones help. I’ve been in phases where I’m not eating great and craving a lot of sugar and eating too big of portions, and if I was in that phase I’d totally go with Skinny Greens! If you’re working out and just need some help burning more, or if you’re trying to get eating on track is the real question. But both are fantastic and I think both help with weight!

  10. Hi! I have the same problem as yours. I’m hormonally imbalanced since high school and I’m now 28. In fact, my husband and I struggled with our second child (which I gave birth last Sept.) since I was experiencing PCOS.     • Hi there! I’m so sorry to hear you have PCOS too, it’s sadly common but such a rough thing! I was technically still breastfeeding when I started, but I was at the end. It’s all natural ingredients so I wasn’t too worried and I found it didn’t impact supply for me. With that said, even so, I’d wait until you’re down to only a few feedings just to make sure!

I have two kids and need those last 15 pounds to come off before I want to try for a third one. I recently started running 3-4 times a week and hope this will aid burning some fat. I am still breastfeeding, so im not drinking any kind of supplement just working out and replacing one meal with green smoothie, i used to drink the skinny green right b4 i got pregnan n it discontinued it due to pregnancy, but my question is, is it safe to drink the raspberry ketones while breastfeeding or should i wait?
