I’ll never forget when statement chandelier earrings made an appearance in college and I had a friend tell me that earrings were their favorite clothing/jewelry item, so making them the statement was totally their jam. I’ve always been a fan of accessories and finding signature style in general, so I nodded thinking, maybe that’s me too. But I’ve learned the older I get that I am finally settling into more “me” labels and items in all areas of style including my home decor, car preferences, and definitely fashion taste. I love trends and trying new things, but at the end of the day, a good statement top is really my jam and something that makes me feel good in any setting. Easy to pair with a skirt, jeans, shorts, or any other bottom and dress up or down while still turning heads is really the piece I like to get the attention, and my favorite thing to wear for date nights.
When I saw this one online my heart almost skipped a beat, my favorite color- hello red! My favorite style- hello flattering peplum that makes me feel put together and hides that giant burrito I ate for our date night dinner. My favorite print- gingham has my heart always but particularly this summer! Hello fun details to really make it pop- the back tie closure keeps it adjustable and easy to make fit perfectly for any body type- think bridal corset perfect fit while letting you choose to close it up and be modest or leave it open for a sexy vibe.
Lots of our summer dates tend to be more casual, so finding a lightweight top that stands out and makes me feel great with jeans or shorts is always a good idea. And when it’s under $20 and comes in your favorite color, and blue gingham and black gingham too, it’s the perfect find!
I’m just warning in advance, this is one top you’re going to see in several date-night posts this summer because I’ve already gone to grab it for multiple outings in the few weeks I’ve owned it!
