Be Sure to Pin This Idea!

With all the madness that was the announcement yesterday of Google Reader going away, there has been a mass exodus to Bloglovin. I’m not usually one to go with the crowd, but since the response online has me thinking this is apocalyptic in nature, I figured I too should should try to save myself and join the crowd. Then I remembered I’ve been there a while, just not using it. I’m still going to love Google Reader to the bitter end, and until I have an offical GFC is going down too notice I’m not going to buy the rumors. I will sit with this sinking ship and love it as I have for so many years.

So friends, let’s all join hands, relive the scene of the Titanic going down and the orchestra playing their final song with dignity watching their beloved ship sink, and let’s enjoy the new journey on Bloglovin together.

So funny. I too, freaked out when that message popped up this week. What?! You can't get rid of Google Reader!
Right now, I'm trying out Feedly. They will import your Google Reader subscriptions so it's pretty seamless. And they say that they knew the Google Reader demise was coming so they have everything in place to store and save your subscriptions when Google Reader ends. We'll see.

I'll have to check out Bloglovin too.

    What is GFC?

GFC= Good Friend Connect, and it's the follower button on the right side of my blog. My Blogger blogs have it 🙂

For those of you who use Windows Live, are you aware that the Windows Live Mail program has a feed reader? That's what I use, and I love it. I just read all my unread feeds when I'm checking my e-mail. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I'm confused about this whole thing! lol An article that I read says that Google Friend Connect will only be cancelled for non blogging sites. Does that mean that eventually, all of our followers will be deleted?

  10. If you're on Google, namely Blogger, it's still around. That's all that has been announced so far, the rest are just rumors 🙂

  14. GFC is used on lots of platforms, and right now anyone can use it. They are planning to keep it, but you have to have a Google account to use it. That's all that means 🙂
