Escape Room Group Date

There’s no better group date idea than doing an escape room group date! Escape Room Mesa has the most room in the country and we’re sharing our experience escaping the room.

Escape the Room Group Date Info:

Price: $120 to book a room for up to five couples
Location: Escape Room Mesa (but there are several in any large city!)

We’ve done a few versions of Escape Rooms now, both the live and the board game version at home. They are always fun, they are always a great group date, and since you solve different riddles and clues each time, they always feel like a fresh, new date. So, when our one of our sisters-in-law suggested we do an escape room as a family group date, we were all in and excited! We turned to Groupon (affiliate link) to find a good deal, there’s almost always one there for anyone looking for an escape room in their area, and we found Mesa Escape Rooms.

I’m so glad we did! They actually have the most rooms in the country and are constantly growing, their rooms are unique and fun, and the puzzles are super clever too! I enjoyed this one way more than the other in-person room we’ve tried, and I don’t think it was just due to the great company! Jacob is from a family of smart, witty, hard-working people, and I love them all for that!

Jacob is from a family of smart, witty, hard-working people, and I love them all for that! There are eight brothers and the first five children are all boys, so it’s been cool to have them each marry a fun girl who matches their work ethic and fun personalities.

Plus, getting to live close to a few of our siblings has been really fun too. They sure make for amazing riddle solving partners! We’re talking crafty moms with a lot of children who never miss a beat, a pilot, and a rocket scientist added to the mix, and I was floored at the fast work of each team member!

We did a local themed room, the Tale of the Lost Dutchman. It’s a true local tale that involves hidden gold and treasure hunting in the wild west of Arizona. It was fun to be locked in “the professor’s room” finding academic clues. We spent plenty of time navigating old newspapers and maps in search of treasure and in search of a key out of the room.

It’s also fun to watch people’s personalities shine. Some are born leaders, some are worried sick the entire time, and some people (like Jacob) can just plow through equations and long sequences without any stress or distraction.

Escape the Room!

We were really excited to finish and escape, but even more excited when the employee leader came to our room and congratulated us on one of the best times he’d ever seen on a really hard room. I have no relativity to these things, so maybe he was just being nice, but I remember barely escaping our last one, so 14:00 felt pretty excellent!

Of course, there were frozen treats and laughing at the panic attacks of certain people after. Which, may have been more fun than the room. We definitely love these and think they’re one of the coolest group dates out there! We will definitely be back to do another one soon!
