No Baby Unhugged
There have been so many moments in my life where moments have hit me like a ton of bricks and made me realize how lucky I am to live in the country I do and with the privilege I do. Parenting has made my heart soften a whole other degree, and realizing how lucky I have been to meet the needs of my baby is something I am always so aware of and so grateful for.
Just last week we went to stock up on some much-needed household items. One of those items was hand soap- our toddler is obsessed with washing his hands right now and that’s a habit we’re happy to encourage! But oh the soap we use! The other item was diapers. Oh, how you seem to fly through diapers as a parent.
Maybe it’s pregnancy hormones, but I teared up on the drive home telling Jacob how this may sound silly, but sometimes I just get so overwhelmed with gratitude that I can actually go buy these items when we need them. Not only that, I can watch for deals and even be able to stock up and prep for the needs of the next month or two.
For someone who has lived in an abusive past, one where I wondered if we’d have enough money to even eat off most days, I just always feel so overwhelmed and grateful for the life I live now. I look at so many other women who have been in my shoes, many with children in diapers and with specific needs, and my heart aches for the struggle.
Did you know 1 in 3 households in U.S. experiences a lack of resources with diapers? That is an alarming and very sad statistic to me. One that drives me to want to donate to banks, shelters, and support causes aiming to tackle the problem. One of the best I’ve found is the Huggies No Baby Unhugged program which includes the donation of 1.5 million diapers and 250,000 wipes to the National Diaper Bank Network. Supporting this cause is so easy too!
How to support the Huggies No Baby Unhugged Program:
Head to Walgreens.com or in-store during March 26-April 29th. For every Huggies purchase, Walgreens will generate a donation of a day’s worth of diapers to the Diaper Network to support families across the U.S. It’s that easy! Stock up on what you need, help families in need, and make a big difference for those babies and families in the U.S. who are in the 1 in 3 statistics with the No Baby Unhugged progam.
