I was asked to participate in the #HallmarkAtWalgreens campaign, sponsored by Walgreens. Although I have been compensated, all opinions are my own.
love love, which I’m sure shocks exactly no one who follows our journey to make love last and keep love alive by dating every week. I really love watching others fall in love, find the right person, and decide to make it a forever deal and get married. I also love watching couples celebrate every anniversary, from first to 70th! I’m thankful to Hallmark at Walgreens for sponsoring this post and helping us celebrate love so perfectly!

One of our favorite dates is attending a wedding of someone we know and love. There’s just something about weddings that bring up the sentiments of our big day and remind me exactly how it feels to experience the best day of your life. No more saying goodbye at night, no more searching, no more hoping you can find a date, and a commitment to forever love and cherish each other. Watching others make these promises and the pure joy on their faces reminds me how lucky I am to have experienced this kind of love, how grateful I am to be living those promises, and how thrilled I am for others to get to do the same!

Naturally, I’m a fan of anyone finding happiness, but there’s an extra special sentiment when a family member introduces you to someone for the first time and you can just sense there’s something different about this one. On New Year’s Eve this year we had one of Jacob’s younger brothers show up at our door and do just that. We could see the extra twinkle in his eye, we could see the happiness they were both bringing to each other’s lives, and when they left we both remarked that as much as we love him, we may already love her even more! She is truly incredible, and we are just so happy that love found these two!

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it any day of the week how grateful I am for my mother-in-law who raised eight boys into the finest men this world has seen! Their love and respect for the women in their lives is so incredible! They are the type of guys who believe in love and marriage, who will always honor their vows, and who are the most loyal, caring, and hard-working men out there! There are currently six extremely happy women who took the last name Whiting, and I just had my heart so warmed to watch another lucky woman join our crew as the seventh.

It wasn’t long after our face-to-face introduction that a big announcement came to keep our calendars open this summer for their big day, and we were just so thrilled to hear it! What a great match they are! I love that even though they are in the middle of schooling and working full-time with a lot of busy schedules, even though they’ve spent time attending the same school in Hawaii different semesters, time and distance never stopped them from falling in love and making marriage happen. It’s amazing how the heart falls for someone and obstacles seem to be pushed aside in the name of love. I immediately knew I wanted to find a card to express our thoughts and feelings, and I also knew Hallmark would help me do it and my favorite place to find an amazing selection is close to home at Walgreens!

There’s something in this that had me smiling thinking of the timing Jacob and I met and married. I was just about to start grad school, I was working full-time, I was training for a half marathon, and I was busy with a lot of other responsibilities. He was just out of school, working long hours at his first job, and even busier as a clergy volunteer and a new home owner fixing up a major fixer-upper. And yet, somehow in all the madness and inconvenient timing, love found a way. We found time to call each other on the nights we couldn’t see each other. There were text messages every day that made my day and reminded me this guy was constantly there ready to support me. He took up running and started training with me. There were late night meetings after night classes, even if we only had an hour together, it was still worth the drive and time to talk and be physically present. After years together when I started looking at jobs out of state and my plans to leave Arizona, there was talk of how we really didn’t think we could do life without each other any longer. There was a proposal and a wedding the spring break before I graduated because someone was ready to make it official before I graduated and had the chance to even think about a long-distance relationship. He knew his heart and soul had found who he loved, and I knew mine had too.

Love isn’t always convenient, and sometimes it seems to be at a time that may not make sense, but it’s funny how when the heart knows what it wants, you magically make it make sense and you fall in love. And that type of love makes me even more excited to celebrate. I really love the wedding, but I may love even more the moments you get more quality time to express your love and share their excitement: bridal showers, engagement parties, family activities, etc. There’s one thing we’ve learned we really love to do, particularly when family prepares for their big day. Our favorite way to celebrate love is to take the couple to dinner and enjoy a double date just focusing on their love and excitement a week before their wedding or when they return home from their honeymoon.

We celebrated Jacob’s brother and his new wife by taking them to dinner to just have time to talk and spend some quality time together. And, also to let them know how much we love them and how excited we are to get a new Whiting! During these times you just need the perfect card to help you express exactly how you feel. I love the Hallmark Signature Collection at Walgreens, there are so many pretty cards to choose from, and I really love going through each message and finding the perfect one to match the couple’s relationship and story.

I looked through so many and loved reading the sweet message of each, but when I saw one, in particular, I knew it was perfect for this couple.

The quote, “I have found the one whom my soul loves” just seemed like the right option due to their shifting of life plans to make sure they were together. When you know it’s right, it’s just right, and your soul definitely lets you know it! I really love that these two didn’t let living in Arizona and Hawaii at separate times stop them. I also loved adding a sentimental note letting them know how thrilled we truly are for them and how great we think it is that they found each other!

As soon as they got home from their honeymoon, we took them out for dinner to congratulate more intimately. I also love watching the reaction as they open the personalized card, it makes those Hallmark moments feel even more real and validates that from the many Hallmark cards I could choose from at Walgreens, I made the right selection! They thanked us for dinner, for the thoughtful card, for our gift, for our time together, and for celebrating their love with them. And I will forever be converted to this way of celebrating love more intimately with engaged and newlywed couples, and I will forever love Hallmark at Walgreens for helping us make our favorite way to celebrate with an informal dinner, and the celebration of big day even more sentimental and special.
