26 Weeks
Baby is the size of a head of lettuce

Feeling: Swollen and a bit queasy this week. I learned something- heat induced gagging is an actual pregnancy symptom! Every time I go out in the blazing heat I start gagging. I thought this was supposed to be a better trimester, but I guess baby is like his parents and isn’t a fan of the 117 degree temps. Coming from Utah back to AZ has been a bit of shocker to my system!

Body Changes: A little bit more swollen, and I hate to admit it, but it looks like the faintest linea nigra is appearing on the stomach. I’m not wearing my wedding ring these days, and I’m looking forward to the day I get to wear the real one again!

I’ve gained 2 lbs this week, and who knows if the french fries, the heat and swelling, or the strange fluctuation of weight gain and loss through the pregnancy is to blame?

I’m noticing my hair and nails continuing to get thicker. I’m trimming nails at least twice a week these days, and I’m about ready to classify my hair as long instead of mid-length. Give me one more week, I’m sure I’ll be there!
Sleeping: No problem here- unless I wake up hot. We’ve resolved to keep the thermostat a little lower this summer and luckily that’s helping lots. I seem to be getting a bit more tired as I get closer to the 3rd trimester, and I think that’s helping me sleep pretty soundly too!
Fitness: Running is not happening for more than a minute or two at a time, and that’s making me sad. My stomach hurts and so does my tailbone when I run, so it may be time to find other activities. I’m still trying hard to get a little walking on the treadmill in, even in the 90 degree morning temps, at least I have the treadmill!
Craving: French fries stuck around this week, I’m still a fan. I also had a night where I couldn’t get nachos off my mind! I’m so grateful I live where Mexican food is hard to find a bad plate of, and where my husband can easily help me satisfy these cravings!

I’m still loving ice and ice chips too. They seem to be the only thing that helps with the heat and the gagging.

Baby Updates: Apparently eyebrows and eyelashes came into place this week, maybe that explains the heartburn! He’s also kicking pretty much every time I eat or drink and letting me know he’s a fan of food.

I am so glad I wasn't pregnant during the summer- I couldn't even imagine dealing with the heat! Also,I didn't get a the linea nigra until after I delivered Taylor which I thought was weird. Same thing happened with stretch marks. I thought I had made it scotch free, and then my milk came in. My boobs tripled in size over night! Good thing little humans make it all worth it.
