January 22nd
I came home during a rainstorm, which I absolutely loved. I’ve always enjoyed rain, and it was a great gift from nature!
If you’re not from AZ, or you’re new here let me tell you a little secret. Joe’s restaurant chains give you a free meal on your actual day of birth! Last year we went to Joe’s Real BBQ for my birthday, and we hit up Joe’s Farm Grill for Jacob’s. We decided it was time to try the last chain and hit up Liberty Market for my birthday. It was a truly excellent choice!
Jacob loved his caprese burger!
I really loved my white pizza!
And my parents really loved their burger and salmon sandwich as well! I can’t believe it’s taken us this long to go!
But maybe the best part is the red velvet cake! My Dad insisted I get a dessert on my actual birthday, how could I say no?
I’m usually way weird and can taste the red food coloring in red velvet cake, which makes it taste awful to me. However, when I found out red beets are the coloring in this cake I was sold! It really was such great cake, and clearly even this ginormous piece didn’t stand a chance against the 4 of us!
It was such a great day! Thank you wonderful parents and the world’s greatest husband for making me feel so loved and special on my big day!

I think beets would be a great way to color red velvet cake–they have such a pungent color! And that gift set up really does remind one of a “birthday fairy”! 🙂 It's great that you had a wonderful birthday!
No taste change, it was delicious! You should so go next time you're here 🙂
Thanks girl! I had a great one and you are too sweet!
Glad I'm not alone! Seriously, it tastes terrible!
I am the same way with red velvet! Did the beets affect the taste? I'd never even heard of Liberty Market – maybe the next time we visit AZ 🙂
Awww looks like you had a great birthday 🙂 I love it! You look gorgeous, by the way.
what a classy birthday! I, too, hate red velvet usually because of the taste of the red food coloring! Weird!
