I grew up going to dinosaur musuems, my dad was born and raised in one of the dinosaur bone capitols of North America! What has been about the most fun thing in parenting is watching my boys fall in love with dinosaurs. They love them the same way (or more than!) I loved them as a kid!
AZ Science Center Special Exhibit
When we heard the Phoenix Science Center was reopening with the Victoria the T-rex Exhibit, we made plans to visit immediately!
The Victoria T-rex travling exhibit is so well done! It starts with a video full of great information. But my favorite part is they didn’t make dinosaurs feel scary. It’s purely science-based with interesting facts and details.
Victoria is currently the newest T-rex discovery, even though she’s a 66 million-year-old skeleton.
What makes her so cool?
Her skeleton was in really great shape! There were a few things palentologists learned about T-rexes from her skull. She also had fossils really well preserved within her skull.
We lagged behind the limited social distance group to ask a lot of questions and take a lot of pictures! They were all very excited about Victoria T-rex! ITheir knowledge and genuine excitement answering all the dinosaur questions genuinely impressed me! I learned a lot!
There’s also plenty of interactive pieces to help you learn and experience even more about dinosaur in an immersive way. It was seriously so cool!
AZ Science Center
There are about a million other things to explore at the AZ Science Center! We only tackled one other floor before it was naptime. I love that there’s so much to see and do, and it makes such a great family date!
I’m all about that sense of curiosity and that look of discovery! If you have kids and need a good family date I’d definitely go to the Arizona Science Center! This Phoenix science museum is tops, and every exhibit is so well done!
