We absolutely love making a big deal of family movie nights and movie date nights in. This classic date or family activity feels so much more special with just a few easy touches! But I promise even if you don’t have a projector, bringing your tv or laptop outside still creates a fun space. I promise even a small setup has a big impact! 

Movie Snacks and Drinks

But one of the easiest ways we’ve found to upgrade a backyard movie night is with movie night snacks and drinks. Seriously hand me a Sparkling Ice Variety Pack (12 pack, 17fl. oz) and some popcorn under the stars and movie night just became magical!

A movie night snack bar is always a hit! Picking up a few snacks from Albertsons makes it so easy! We’re currently keeping our movie nights to just our family, but we’ve hosted group dates in the past, and you can always find someone at the snack bar either way!

Drink Variety Packs

Start with drinks. I love it when I can buy a good variety pack of drinks everyone loves. The Sparkling Ice 12 pack Purple Variety and Sparkling Ice 12 pack Blue Variety from the beverage aisle at Albertsons are both excellent choices!

If you haven’t had Sparkling Ice beverages you need to remedy that! There’s zero sugar, only 5 calories, and they use natural colors and flavors. In the 12 pack Blue Variety Pack I love the Strawberry Watermelon and Classic Lemonade which remind me of summer! But the entire pack is delicious! I also love to add pebble ice and some fresh lime to pair with the 12 pack Purple Variety. The Cherry Limeade and Orange Mango are big hits in our household! Truly, they are all delicious and fun to have for variety in a movie snack bar!

Movie Night Snack Ideas 

• Popcorn 

  A healthy movie night snack idea with a simple popcorn is always a good choice! That leaves anyone with allergies or looking for a light snack with a great option. 

  But we also like to include some popcorn varieties to shake things up. A sweet, savory, and plain/butter flavor are always a good idea. 

  Feel free to get creative with topping and seasonings. It can make plain popcorn really fun and exciting! 

• Movie Theater Candy 

  It’s easy to grab a few candy variety and leave them in bowls for people to choose a few sweet options.

  Alternatively, you can buy a few movie theater candy boxes for about $1! We buy one or two per person it makes it easy. But if everyone in your crew likes variety than a few candy bowls can provide an easy way to share. 

• Nachos 

  This is a favorite movie theater buy! If you want to add a little more weight to your snack bar, get some nacho sauce and chips and put out some nacho plates. 

  

• Soft Pretzels 

  These can be heated in a minute! We’ve found kids and adults alike love a good soft pretzel! It’s one of those special movie theater snacks that take your snack bar up to the next level. 

Don’t feel the need to make it too much of a production, unless you want to! A simple Sparkling Ice drink bar with one or two snack items will do the trick! And one movie snack bar makes the whole event feel like a special night at the theater in the comfort of your own home.
