It’s almost October, which means it’s my favorite time of year to celebrate all the Halloween fun!
I know a lot of people love using an advent as a Christmas tradition to count down the days to Christmas. But we’re taking a queue from holiday advents and creating a Halloween countdown calendar. And best of all, it’s totally free!
I scoured the internet on Amazon, Pottery Barn Kids, and Etsy for the best Halloween advent calendars, and I couldn’t find anything I loved that didn’t cost an arm and leg. I know you’re making plenty of purchases this time of year. So I called up our designer and asked if we could get ready for all Hallows Eve with a special treat we could share for free. And boy did she deliver!
We love us some good free Halloween activities, and this is one that adds a little dose of fun every day in Oct. to bring in spooky season!
This is no trick, only a treat, and you can download the free Halloween Advent Calendar right here!

Here’s how to use it:
- Download the printable. Check your Downloads folder after you confirm your email, sometimes it auto downloads and stores it right there.
- Print the file. You can certainly keep this easy with a standard 8×10 paper. But we recommend printing an oversized engineer print (30×42 or 24×36 both work great!). It’s about $6 and it makes the Halloween calendar feel extra fun and special displayed where kid can see them. You just upload the file on Staples, choose the size, and pick it up a few hours later.
Here are the full instructions how to make oversized engineer prints on the cheap. - Enjoy the Halloween countdown. Once September ends, count off each day in October by coloring or crossing off the picture on the date.
It’s a fun oversized coloring page, but it works great if you just want to cross off dates with a marker or stickers too!
You’ll find cute ghosts, candy, pumpkins, cats, and plenty of other cute and slightly spooky Halloween images to add a little creativity.
We love to use these as part of a spooky basket, and we’ve found toddlers through teenagers really enjoy this fun countdown to Halloween! So while you’re grabbing one, don’t forget your teens in the mix too!
